Stain Glass Basics

Intrigued to learn the basics of Stained Glass? This 4 hour Stained Glass Basics Class will satisfy your curiosity and interest. It is a beginner class where you will learn about art glass, tools and materials needed to complete a Red Cardinal Bird Suncatcher. Instruction on cutting and grinding glass, how to foil and solder, then finally how to finish with a patina and polish. Students will get hands on beginner level experience practicing then apply learned methods to create your own small red bird sun catcher to take home!!
**You will need to wear closed toed shoes and bring your own Safety Glasses (REQUIRED).
***There is a material fee of $28 for tool kit. Your kit will include a glass cutter, running pliers and grozing pilers that will be yours to take home to practice glass cutting and creating. You will pay this on the day of class before we begin. Please bring cash or check if possible.
Otherwise ALL MATERIALS ARE INCLUDED IN THE PRICE!!! ie. glass, foil, flux, solder and some other tools such as solder iron use in class. GREAT DEAL FOR BEGINNERS TO TRY OUT.

Family Throwdown- Wheel Throwing- Ages 8y - Adult

It is a family affair!!
Ages 8y through Adult
Join in our Family Throw Down! This is a great way to spend some art time with family of all ages!Get to know the pottery wheel in this two hour long class.You'll learn how to wedge, center, and pull walls in a participation style demonstration. Students will then be set free to practice with multiple balls of clay.
Guidance will be provided throughout class. All experience levels and questions are welcomed!
Students may choose one piece to be finished by staff. They will glaze your piece with one glaze of your choice. You can make additional pieces for $15/piece. We use glazes that are considered food safe. Projects will be made with a strong stoneware clay that turns white once fired in the kiln.
Dressing for a messy class is recommended. Join us in Artmosphere’s new clay studio space! Located next to the main building.
Cancellation/Missed Class Policy: No refunds if cancelled < 1week notice or missed due to illness or otherwise. Refunds made prior to 1 week will be sent back to card processed on minus processing fees.
