Sip & Spin- Wheel Throwing Fun Clay Class- March

Monthly every 2nd and 4th Friday night!
6:30pm-8:30pm
Enjoy your favorite adult beverage while you (wheel)throw down! Get to know the pottery wheel in this fun, adult only class. You'll learn how to wedge, center, and pull walls in a participation style demonstration. Students will then be set free with multiple balls of clay to practice until their heart’s content (and 8:30pm:). Event is BYOB and Snacks! Feel free to bring a small cooler to keep beverages cool.
Guidance will be provided throughout class. All experience levels and questions are welcomed!
Students may choose one piece to be finished by staff. You may choose a 2nd piece to be finished for $15 fee. Staff will glaze your piece with one glaze of your choice. We use glazes that are considered food safe. Projects will be made with a strong stoneware clay that turns white once fired in the kiln.
Please arrive on time. Class starts promptly.
Dressing for a messy class is recommended. Join us in Artmosphere’s new clay studio space! Located next to the main building. Please park in front parking lot and walk over.

Intro to Painting II - "Next Steps"

This is a sequel to the Intro to Painting I class. It is a good match for those that took the Intro to Painting I class or those that have a good baseline foundation of painting but want to grow their skills or get help in specific areas such as contrast, lighting, composition or techniques. You will get a brief review of the basics and then quickly dive into painting. In this class you can bring a reference photo or use one of ours. The instructor will advise you if the reference photo will be a good fit at the beginning of class. Students will be guided in the steps to paint a small 9x12 canvas. All materials will be provided but please feel free to bring your preferred materials, brushes, tools or acrylic paint brands.

Monthly All Ages Homeschool Painting- May

All Ages - Children 3yr and up, Teens and Adults Too!
Ages 5 and under need an adult to stay to assist please.
Each month students will have a different painting to work on. There will be opportunity for skill learning and individual expression. There will be as much guidance or freedom in instruction as needed or wanted. All materials are provided. Seats are limited. Registration is required.

Berry Basket- Clay Class

Ages: Adult and Teens 16y+
Add some functional fun to your kitchen! In this class, you’ll learn slab building techniques to create a traditional berry basket shape. You’ll then use sharp tools to cut holes through your basket so that water may drain through. Once your basket is formed you’ll choose from multiple dinnerware safe glazes to have your basket finished with. Staff will later glaze your basket once it has gone through the first kiln firing. Demonstrations and guidance will be provided throughout class. All experience levels and questions are welcomed! Dressing for a messy class is recommended. Please park in front of the main building and walk over to the clay studio. Students will receive a slip with a date for when their project(s) will be ready for pick up.

Watercolor Class- Monthly -May

Join us in this monthly exploration of watercolor each 1st Saturday morning of the month. The 2 hour class will explore watercolor technique, integrate art and design principles all while having fun being creative and expanding your skillset. You can sign up every month or pop in when the timing is right. The classes will be suitable for beginners but we will continue to build each class for those that have experience or need challenges.
This will be a small class setting with opportunities to join a watercolor artist community and opportunities to share and get feedback throughout the month via a private social media group.
Seats will be limited. Register early.

Butterfly Sgrafitto Cup- Clay Class

All Ages- 7y to Adult
Don’t let this class fly by! Join us in the clay studio to make a lovely cup adorned with a butterfly. First, you’ll learn slab building techniques to form your cup. Then, you’ll learn a timeless technique called Sgraffito. Here you will apply underglaze paints, then scratch away your butterfly design revealing the clay underneath. Demonstrations and guidance will be provided throughout class. All experience levels and questions are welcomed! Dressing for a messy class is recommended. Please park in front of the main building and walk over to the clay studio. Students will receive a slip with a date for when their project(s) will be ready for pick up.
