Orientation- Prerequisite for Clay Membership -March

Only register for this orientation if you will be registering for a STUDIO MEMBERSHIP.
This is not a clay class.
Clay Studio Orientation Class will welcome you to the clay studio and provide valuable information about the safe practices and appropriate procedures of using the clay studio during classes and open studio membership hours.
This class is a requirement in order to be part of the clay studio membership. We look forward to your participation in the studio.
Gnome or Gnome Mug- Clay Class

All Ages 7y- Adult
We "Gnome" you will have fun in this class! You’ll learn slab building techniques to form your gnome or gnome mug. Then, you’ll paint it with various underglazes of your liking. Demonstrations and guidance will be provided throughout class. All experience levels and questions are welcomed! Dressing for a messy class is recommended. Please park in front of the main building and walk over to the clay studio. Students will receive a slip with a date for when their project(s) will be ready for pick up.
Disclaimer: Due to the nature of ceramics, projects can crack, break or be damaged in the firing process even with the utmost care and consideration. Unfortunately this is not a cause for a refund.
Cancellation/Missed Class Policy: No refunds may be processed if canceled less than one week notice, this includes missed classes due to illness or other reasons. Refunds made prior to one week will be sent back to the processed card on file, minus processing fees.
Intro to Painting I

Are you being drawn to paint? Try this class out. This class is geared for beginners, students that want to freshen up their skills and those that want to learn new techniques. Students will learn about basic materials, resources, overview of types of paints and information regarding different painting techniques. The instructor will guide students to create a painting during class through teaching technique, composition and some color theory while using acrylic paints. Students will gain much basic foundation knowledge to move along more skillfully on their own creations!
Sign up for Intro to Painting II- "Next Steps" offered 4/26 for more painting instruction and to keep it going!!

Sip & Spin- Wheel Throwing Fun Clay Class- March

Monthly every 2nd and 4th Friday night!
6:30pm-8:30pm
Enjoy your favorite adult beverage while you (wheel)throw down! Get to know the pottery wheel in this fun, adult only class. You'll learn how to wedge, center, and pull walls in a participation style demonstration. Students will then be set free with multiple balls of clay to practice until their heart’s content (and 8:30pm:). Event is BYOB and Snacks! Feel free to bring a small cooler to keep beverages cool.
Guidance will be provided throughout class. All experience levels and questions are welcomed!
Students may choose one piece to be finished by staff. You may choose a 2nd piece to be finished for $15 fee. Staff will glaze your piece with one glaze of your choice. We use glazes that are considered food safe. Projects will be made with a strong stoneware clay that turns white once fired in the kiln.
Please arrive on time. Class starts promptly.

Stain Glass Basics

Intrigued to learn the basics of Stained Glass? This 4 hour Stained Glass Basics Class will satisfy your curiosity and interest. It is a beginner class where you will learn about art glass, tools and materials needed to complete a Red Cardinal Bird Suncatcher. Instruction on cutting and grinding glass, how to foil and solder, then finally how to finish with a patina and polish. Students will get hands on beginner level experience practicing then apply learned methods to create your own small red bird sun catcher to take home!!
**You will need to wear closed toed shoes and bring your own Safety Glasses (REQUIRED).
***There is a material fee of $28 for tool kit. Your kit will include a glass cutter, running pliers and grozing pilers that will be yours to take home to practice glass cutting and creating. You will pay this on the day of class before we begin. Please bring cash or check if possible.
Otherwise ALL MATERIALS ARE INCLUDED IN THE PRICE!!! ie. glass, foil, flux, solder and some other tools such as solder iron use in class. GREAT DEAL FOR BEGINNERS TO TRY OUT.

Wheel Throw Down! -Adults/Teens

Monthly All Ages Homeschool Painting- April

All Ages - Children 3yr and up, Teens and Adults Too!
Ages 5 and under need an adult to stay to assist please.
Each month students will have a different painting to work on. There will be opportunity for skill learning and individual expression. There will be as much guidance or freedom in instruction as needed or wanted. All materials are provided. Seats are limited. Registration is required.

Hanging Turtle Planter- Clay Class

These planters are going to be turtley awesome! Join us in the clay studio to make one of your own. You’ll learn slab building techniques to form your turtle planter. Then, you'll use tools to add texture and make your turtle look more realistic. Once finished forming, you’ll paint your turtle planter with underglazes of your liking. Demonstrations and guidance will be provided throughout class. All experience levels and questions are welcomed! Dressing for a messy class is recommended. Please park in front of the main building and walk over to the clay studio. Students will receive a slip with a date for when their project(s) will be ready for pick up.
