Holiday Clay Handbuilding Basics

Choose your own Holiday Clay Project! Make something special in the clay studio for your Holiday Decor or as a gift! You will have several holiday themed designs to choose one from such as a ghouly ghost, a pumpkin, Christmas tree or Snowman. This group class is dedicated time for adults and teens 15y+ who want to make a simple custom holiday clay piece. An instructor will be there to help guide you and provide technical support. 

Students will be supported by the instructor on how to create this simple handbuilt form with up to 2 lbs of clay. You will have time to apply glazes to your piece. We will keep the project to dry and fire and provide a pick date. 

Disclaimer: Due to the nature of ceramics, sometimes unfortunately projects can crack, break or can be damaged in the firing process even with the most care and consideration. Unfortunately this is not a cause for refunds.

Cancellation Policy:  No refunds if cancelled with less than < 1 week notice or missed due to illness or otherwise. Cancellation refunds prior to 1 week will be sent back to card processed on minus processing fees. 

Outdoor Raku Firing

***This is only for artist bringing their own work. Purchasing Premade pieces for glazing and firing are 1st come 1st serve and sold at the event only. 

We are excited to have a Raku Only Event! We will be firing the kiln all day. 

Ceramic artist are welcome to bring up to 4 pieces to have fired that day. 

Please see requirements and details below.

• PIECES MUST BE LESS THAN 9 INCHES TALL AND 6 INCHES WIDE
• NO MORE THAT 4 PIECES PER PERSON
• PIECES MUST BE MADE WITH RAKU CLAY
• PIECES MUST BE BISQUED AND ALSO BURNISHED IF DOING HORSE HAIR, FEATHERS ETC.
• PLEASE BE SURE TO MAKE YOUR WALLS AS EVEN AS POSSIBLE TO PREVENT CRACKS AND BREAKAGE

• BE PREPARED TO STAY AND ASSIST WITH THE PROCESS- COTTON CLOTHING, LONG SLEEVES, MASKS, AND CLOSED TOED SHOES ARE REQUIRED.

• WE HAVE SEVERAL COMBUSTION CHAMBERS BUT BRINGING YOUR OWN IS A PLUS. YOU MAY BRING NATURAL COMBUSTIBLE MATERIALS - IE. WOOD SHAVING, NEWSPAPER, PINESTRAW ETC.

• THERE ARE NO REFUNDS. THIS IS A TAKE A CHANCE KIND OF FIRING. ALL CERAMIC FIRINGS CAN BE UNPREDICTABLE INCLUDING RAKU.
