This class will be out of this world! We’re making custom trays with an astrological sign of your choice. These trays can be used in various ways such as a jewelry dish, spoon rest, soap tray, etc. You’ll learn how to hand build the tray with a simple slab building technique. Once your tray is formed, you’ll paint it with underglaze(s) of your liking. Using a stencil as a guide, you’ll learn the famous Sgraffito technique and scratch away your zodiac symbol to reveal the clay underneath.

Demonstrations and guidance will be provided throughout class. All experience levels and questions are welcomed! Dressing for a messy class is recommended.

Please park in front of the main building and walk over to the clay studio. Students will receive a slip with a date for when their project(s) will be ready for pick up.

Celebrate the Valentine's Day Holiday with your favorite someone whether that be your partner or bestie:) and create a heart shaped bowl/vessel.

The fun class will let you spend time together experiencing how to manipulate clay on a wheel. An experienced instructor will do a demo on how to center, pull sides and shape the clay. Then you get to give it a whirl!! The instructor will be available to give tips, guidance and answer questions. 

Students may choose one piece to be finished by staff. They will hand trim and glaze your piece with one glaze of your choice. If you have a 2nd piece that you would like finished there is a $15 extra fee due in class. We use glazes that are considered food safe. Projects will be made with a strong stoneware clay that turns white once fired in the kiln.

Dressing for a messy class is recommended. Join us in Artmosphere’s new clay studio space! Located next to the main building.

Giddy up, it's clay time! We’re making functional vases, shaped like a traditional cowboy boot. You’ll learn how to construct slabs of clay and turn them into a sweet work of art! Once your boot is formed, you’ll learn how to properly attach custom decorations of your choice. Then you’ll add some color and paint your boot with various underglazes of your liking. Don’t let this class boot scoot by!

3rd Thursdays

Join us at the Clay Studio on 3rd Thursday afternoons each month in a group setting for children to be able to work on themed projects using handbuilding techniques. These projects will be teacher lead with instruction and encouragement to be creative! 

Projects will go through many phases of drying and firing. Pick up of final project/s will be  communicated and scheduled for the next month during regular studio hours. 

Disclaimer: Ceramics is a fragile art. There is always a possibility that projects can crack, break or be damaged in the kiln firing process even with the most care provided. Unfortunately, this will not be a reason for refund. We will always do our very best to prevent this.

Clay Studio Orientation Class will welcome you to the clay studio and provide valuable information about the safe practices and appropriate procedures of using the clay studio during classes and open studio membership hours. 

This class is a requirement in order to be part of the clay studio membership. We look forward to your participation in the studio.

It is a family affair!! 

Ages 8y through Adult

Join in our Family Throw Down! This is a great way to spend some art time with family of all ages!Get to know the pottery wheel in this two hour long class.You'll learn how to wedge, center, and pull walls in a participation style demonstration. Students will then be set free to practice with multiple balls of clay.

Guidance will be provided throughout class. All experience levels and questions are welcomed!

Hooty hooo! This is the clay class for you! We’re making adorable owls with dangling feet. You’ll learn how to take a slab of clay and transform it into a lovely owl with various decorative techniques. Once your owl is formed, you’ll use underglazes of your choice to give your owl some color. Demonstrations and guidance will be provided throughout class. All experience levels and questions are welcomed!
