Scratch your creative itch and make something special in the clay studio! This group class is dedicated time for adults who want to make custom clay art. Bring your project ideas or use one of ours. An instructor will be there to help guide you and provide technical support. This time can be used for handbuilding or wheel throwing!

You are welcome to purchase glazes, and extra clay, to use for your project during class.
Glaze: $5 per 2 pound project
Clay: $5 per 2 pounds of clay
THINGS TO KNOW:
Notice: An instructor must be present before starting the glaze process with studio glazes. Please let them know when you're ready to glaze for assistance with the glaze cabinet.
You are welcome to bring your own clay/glazes purchased outside of the clay studio. These must have labels and be approved by the studio manager, to ensure they are compatible with our kiln firing temperatures.
Compatible Clays: Mid-range/Stoneware clay that fires to cone 6 (NOT cone 06).
Compatible Glazes: Glazes that fire to cone 6 (NOT cone 06). Some say cone 5-6, this is okay. If you want your piece to be dinnerware safe, check the label for this as well.

Students are required to thoroughly clean up tools, tables, and wheels after using and put everything back in its place. The studio technician will announce clean up time 15 minutes before the end of class.

Wheel Throwing Series- Adults
with Cat Trueblood

Adults & Teens 16y and up
3 Saturdays
9/20, 1:30pm-4pm
9/27 & 10/11, 1pm-3pm
Get to know the pottery wheel in this 3 week Saturday course. Students will learn how to wedge, center, and pull walls to form awesome shapes on the wheel. Once pieces are formed and have dried some, students will learn how to successfully trim their pieces to make a functional foot. Students will learn how to glaze their pieces on the last day of class.
This class is geared for beginners or people wanting more practice with their skill building before moving to intermediate.
Demonstrations and guidance will be provided throughout every class. All experience levels and questions are welcomed!
Students will be able to make and take home up to 3 pieces.
We use glazes that are considered food safe. Projects will be made with a strong stoneware clay that turns white once fired in the kiln.
Dressing for a messy class is recommended.
Join us in Artmosphere’s new clay studio space! Located next to the main building. Park in front of the main building and walk over.

Sip & Spin- Wheel Throwing Fun Clay Class - September

Monthly every 2nd and 4th Friday night!
6:30pm-8:30pm
Enjoy your favorite adult beverage while you throw down on the pottery wheel! After watching a demonstration by one of our skilled instructors, students will be given up to four balls of clay to practice with.
Students may choose their favorite piece to be finished by staff at the end of class. Extra pieces may be finished for a $15 fee per piece. Staff will trim and glaze your piece(s) with a glaze of your choice.
Guidance will be provided throughout class. All experience levels and questions are welcomed!
Your instructor will announce clean up time 20 minutes before the end of class.
Dressing for a messy class is recommended.
Please park in the front parking lot and arrive on time, class starts promptly.

Children/ Teens -Wheel Throwing Class -8y-15y

Ages 8y-15y
Wheel throwing for KIDS ONLY!! Your student will get to know the fascinating and mesmerizing pottery wheel in this two hour long class. Guidance will be provided throughout class.
All experience levels and questions are welcomed!
Students may choose one piece to be finished by staff. Staff will hand trim and glaze your piece with one glaze of your choice. We use glazes that are considered food safe. Projects will be made with a strong stoneware clay that turns white once fired in the kiln
